Recovery Ride For Fuel

Trial Gatorade "Endurance" Mix
Needed a recovery ride after the heat-fest up Palomar Mtn. on Saturday. How about a ride over to Nytro in Encinitas for a chat with Joe and some fuel load? Thats sounds good to me! Mounted the SOMA with a couple of bottles and hit the road after 0830. Wore the loose fitting NCCC old blue and yellow jersey over a pair of large old cycling shorts. Cruised along South Santa Fe Road and stopped at Wal-Mart in Carlsbad by REI. I went looking for yarn for Zaharah. Of course after the dept. mgr and another "expert" searched and they didn't have the same color. After REI opened at 1000, I picked up a bottle of Boeshield for chain lube. That still works very good on a clean chain. Only downside is you need to wait several hours for it to dry out before wiping down.

Good Ol' Carbo-Pro
After checking out the Charge fat-tire bike at REI, I headed over to Encinitas and chatted with Joe at Nytro. Got a few goodies including my monthly supply of Carbo-Pro and a trial Gatorade Endurance powder(supposed to have 2x the salt in there). Rolled home under intense heat and a heavy bag on my back. Sweat-OH-Rama.

Clear skies on a HOT day,
32 miles
