Rollers To Bonsall 200 Brevet

Over 30 riders at the start for this Rando route.
Great turn out of over 30 riders for this July Brevet. Drove down with Jaime Gurrola to the Old Town start. Lots of SD Rando Red, white and blue jerseys at the start line. RBA Dennis gave a few instructions and away we went.

Seemed like the race was on. Straight away, Jaime had to stop at the Mission Bay bathrooms. He later caught up at the Black Mtn. control, manned by Bob Coleman. We had a nice group riding together at a quick pace. Steve Elliott and Ms. manned the next control on El Camino Real. They had the good homemade rando cake, which we packed away real good! Yummy stuff. Climbing separated the group up Jesmond Dene and riders filtered into the Bonsall Control. A slight detour over the old Bonsall Bridge. I think some riders missed this one.

A group of 4 of us rode into the normal headwind westbound on the SLR Bike Path to the Oceanside control. Nice to have company on that stretch, for riding alone will tire you out. Rode with Jimbo down the coast and up Torrey Pines climb. Lots of traffic around Fiesta Island. Over The Line softball tourney today. Rolled into the finish and Dennis signed us off. Took around 140 pictures and 14 video clips during this ride.

Weather was overcast most of the day, with some cleaning and blue skies around Bonsall. Ride hi-lite video can be viewed on YouTube under Rando Rides Rollers To Bonsall
